Students of this course need no prior qualifications. A good level of written and spoken English is required.

Course Content

Waxing Certificate students will cover comprehensive training and extensive practical experience in the following areas:

• Client consultation
• Contraindications to treatment
• Insurance
• Structure of the hair
• Hair types
• The Endocrine System
• Other forms of depilation
• Preparing the area
• Application technique for cool wax and hot wax
• Study the removal of hair from the following areas:

Half leg, Full leg, Underarm, Bikini, Lip, Chin, Forearm, Eyebrows and sides of the face

• Treatment aftercare and maintenance
• Pricing your treatments
• Marketing
• Hygiene and sterilisation
• Health & Safety

Students will work on one another for the duration of the course. A suitable model is required for your ITEC practical examination at the end of the course. They must have adequate hair growth in all areas and not be contraindicated to any part of the treatment to be a suitable model.

What must I supply?

Students of this course will need to supply plain black trousers, plain black shoes and a plain black hip-length cardigan.

Stationary and a plain black ring binder folder will also be required as well as access to a computer for treatment evidence work and online theory examinations.
